Insulation Experts in Roanoke Virginia

We do all types of insulation jobs in and around Roanoke Virginia.

As an experienced small and local business we get by on our good word. And we also know how to do the job right and get our materials at a better rate than our larger competitors. Do you know how it feels when it's August and you've been sweating all morning and you finally arrive home, unlock the front door, and the cold air of your lovely house strikes you in the face? What a welcome break from the heat. If you're anything like us, you'll keep the air conditioner running while the sun is scorching. Similarly, when Jack Frost shows up on our doorsteps, we keep the heat on high.

Only knowing that you'll end up with an electric bill higher than the clouds in the sky because that cool/hot air is escaping faster than a prisoner fleeing prison can bring you down.

Are you thinking about how to sell house fast because the insulation job is too much to handle? Worry not more! We are the insulation experts in your area. Insulation isn't glamorous to think about, yet it's one of the most critical (and often overlooked) aspects of your home. For many years, we have been Roanoke's most reputable and trustworthy insulation firm. Our insulation company's top aim is to inform our customers about all of the insulation alternatives available and to provide advice on which products would be the greatest fit for their specific home and budget. Residential Insulation

Who knew that a poorly insulated home wastes 60% of the energy it generates through the walls and attic? With the current state of the economy, having a well-insulated home is a must. In addition to the inner walls of the home, the attic and crawlspace are common residential insulation locations. The advantages of residential insulation appear to be growing all the time, especially with the latest products and technology, such as spray foam insulation.

Professionally insulated homes not only help keep your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter, but they also help you save money on energy bills, enhance the quality of the air you breathe, increase the strength and stiffness of your home, and act as an excellent sound barrier. Insulation is also important for keeping pests and insects out of your home.

Insulation Experts Roanoke can handle practically any insulation job, no matter how big or small. We guarantee that no matter how tight a place is, we can insulate it (we have some special skinny guys on the crew to help with this).

Attic insulation, basement insulation, Spray Foam Insulation (SFI), and crawl space insulation are our specialties.

Which Insulation Do I Need?

Ours. But if you insist on doing it yourself, then you've come to the right place. An "R-value" is a metric used to assess the effectiveness of insulation. The R-value is a measurement of a material's resistance to heat flow and offers information about it. As a result, the higher the R-value, the better the material will insulate your home from the standpoint of both climate management and energy efficiency.

The manufacturer provides the R-value, which is expressed as a number per inch of material thickness. Furthermore, depending on the environment in our location, several recommendations for required R-value insulation exist, and the R-value recommendations vary based on materials, any existing insulation, and the space within the home that is being insulated.

We're in climate zone 4 as you can see on the map below.

This data from the US Department of Energy helps us figure out what R-value we'll need for our insulation job based on our climate zone.

You discover the column listing the space you plan to insulate, whether it's the attic, crawlspace, or walls, by first isolating the row for your climate zone - we're in climate zone 4 to be safe. Continuous insulation is abbreviated as CI.

When most people think of insulation, they think of the pink, itchy fiberglass insulation that we used for decades. Spray foam insulation, blown in cellulose, foam boards, and a variety of other solutions are now available.

Spray foam insulation
is becoming increasingly popular, and rightfully so. The spray is simple to use, but it has the greatest impact, allowing you to gain the many benefits of a professionally insulated home or business.

Spray foam insulation comes in two basic forms that are ideal for attic insulation, basement insulation, crawlspace insulation, and pretty much any other room you want to insulate in your home. Spray foam insulation is also significantly more durable and lasts for the life of your home.

Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation
Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation

Open cell spray foam gets its name from the fact that the foam cells are not closed, but rather "open." This cell structure is significant because it allows water and vapors to pass through the material. Furthermore, compared to closed cell spray foam, open cell spray foam is softer and more flexible. You may be wondering why we would want an insulator to be vapor and water permeable; the explanation is that there are many situations where a place, such as a crawlspace or basement, is susceptible to mold growth. In this case, open cell spray is ideal because it allows water to move through the material without creating a damp environment that mold thrives in.

Open cell spray foam, expertly installed by our insulation contractors, uses less material, expands more, and is often more cost effective than closed cell spray foam.

Although open cell spray foam is an excellent interior and residential insulation product, it may not be the best choice for your project.

Give us a call right now for a free estimate! We'd be delighted to simply advise you on the best product for your home.

Closed cell spray foam gets its name from the fact that its cellular structure is made up of "closed" cells. Because of this anatomical difference, closed cell spray foam is substantially more dense than open cell foam, resulting in a water and vapor resistant insulator. Closed cell foam can be used on both interior and exterior surfaces, making it more versatile in use.

Closed cell spray foam insulation has a substantially greater R-value, making it an effective insulation solution for almost any climatic or thermal condition. Furthermore, a greater R-value results in an insulator with a substantially more rigid structure, which helps to improve the structural integrity and impact resistance of your home. Closed cell spray foam is an excellent alternative for insulating crawl spaces, walls, and brick foundations because of this.

Closed cell spray foam insulation is a fantastic product, but it might not be the ideal choice for your project.
